We are all aware of the bad effects fossil fuels are having on the environment. To top that, fossil fuels are also limited and will run out at some time, it may not be in our lifetime, but it is going to happen! So, we all have to look at alternative sources of energy.
The first source of alternative energy that everyone thinks of is solar power. In places where there is a lot of sun, solar power is an excellent option. Most people use solar power for heating purposes and you can get very good solar geysers that can really make a difference in your energy bill.
It is also possible to charge batteries with solar panels and that overcomes the problem of day and night. You can charge the batteries during the day when there is sun and in the evening the energy is all stored in your batteries.
Another option is wind power. Of course you have to stay in a place where there is enough wind and you must have somewhere to place the wind turbine where nothing obstructs the wind. Fortunately even a small home rooftop wind turbine can supply you with enough energy to run most of your appliances and electronic equipment. So, even only that can make a big difference in your energy bill.
Then there is the option that many people use and that is to combine solar panels with wind turbines. In this way you are covered for all kinds of weather. Very often when there is not sun there will be wind and on sunny days, when there is no wind, the solar panels can do the thing for you. With such a combination you should be able to supply yourself with a very big portion of the energy you need and you will definitely save a lot of money on your energy bill.
Whatever option you choose, looking at alternative sources of energy before it is too late is very important.
